Job Description

Five Star Construction Ltd (FSC) is an exciting and growing organisation that specialises in residential renovations, new builds, and leaky home resolution. FSC also closely partners with other industry companies that provide cladding and flashing management services.We currently employ a team of 11 staff and we are expanding quickly. As such, we need an Apprentice Carpenter to join our busy team in Wellington.Position summary:An entry-level position in the construction industry and on-site training towards a carpentry qualification. The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • assisting qualified carpenters
  • managing on-site materials
  • carrying out entry-level carpentry tasks under the supervision of qualified tradesmen.

Person specificationsEssential:
  • Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand.
  • A fast learner.
  • Able to take instructions.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Must be a team player and clear communicator of all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be pro-active, accept responsibility and have a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated good initiative.
  • Able to maintain relationships with co-workers.
  • Must be reliable and on time.
  • A clean, current NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport.
  • Some practical experience in construction or use of tools.
  • Pre-trade theory education.
  • Current safety accreditation.
