Job Description

My Client and the role:Beyond is assisting a Crown entity in recruiting for a Financial Accountant.  You will be reporting to the Team Leader of Financial Accounting.The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering the following:
  • Maintain an understanding of the Branch business strategy, goals and objectives to develop a work programme that integrates with and closely supports achievement of objectives.
  • Keep stakeholders (including the Team Leader) informed on priorities, opportunities and risks.
  • Support the successful delivery of key matters and projects across the business (eg, funding reviews and budget bids).
  • Help coordinate the preparation of the financial reporting across accountability documents eg, the Annual Report and Statement of Performance Expectations.
  • Support an efficient and accurate month end close (including internal reporting).
  • Help ensure financial accounting complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP), International Public Sector Accounting Standards, tax legislation, Crown Entities Act, Public Finance Act.
Ideal candidate will have:
  • Chartered Accountant with at least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, analytical and influencing skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders (internal and external).
